…and it is amazing! First, Sam’s Town is inspired by Bruce’s Born to Run, now, Brandon Flowers is finding inspiration in Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits. Long live late 70’s rock! I am so buying tickets to their concert if they come to town…
Romeo & Juliet was from the Dire Straits’ release Making Movies. R&J and my other favorite song from that album are down in the box.

Yes, I’m only a Bill, and I’m sitting here on Capital Hill.
I learned more about Congress and bills and laws from that song than any class could ever have taught me. Schoolhouse Rock was what kids from my generation got to see in between cartoons on Saturday morning (yes, that was the only day they were on) instead of commercials. Now that was responsible programming!

Today I am thinking about junior high, or middle school, as it’s called now. Kate is right in the midst of it and I try to remember daily how it was for me back then. Were there fights? Who were my friends?
What I do know is that yearbook from ‘72 won’t be leaving the house any time soon, that’s what I know.
