The Killers cover Dire Straits

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

…and it is amazing! First, Sam’s Town is inspired by Bruce’s Born to Run, now, Brandon Flowers is finding inspiration in Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits. Long live late 70’s rock! I am so buying tickets to their concert if they come to town…

Romeo & Juliet was from the Dire Straits’ release Making Movies. R&J and my other favorite song from that album are down in the box.

Without further ado, The Killers doing “Romeo and Juliet”.

Netflix Watch Now

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

Yesterday after I got bumped to a Watch Now customer, I was going to watch The Puffy Chair, but it just wasn’t convenient at the time. So I came back today to watch. I forgot about the IE tab, and found that Firefox alone was not a compatible browser for Watch Now viewing. Queue the IE tab and press play.

The movie streamed with nary a glitch; the audio was a little low, but easily tweaked. In general, I have to say I was very pleased with the service and will be watching more movies this way in the future. I wish it was Mac compatible. I wish it were Firefox compatible. But, it is what it is: a service enhancement.

The list of movies available to watch now is extremely limited. A lot of older, obscure stuff and television series. I can’t say I found a dozen new(er) releases on the list. They’ll definitely have to add more better offerings to please the masses.
