Holy hell. The new Drive-By Truckers is frickin’ awesome. I’m old school–I was a huge Southern Rock fan back in the day–and these guys are keeping it real, southern-style.
Yeah, this new stuff is more polished, just like you’re hearin’. But polished in a good way. Their sound is just so…tight. And not a sour note to be found. Their website says the CD, called A Blessing and a Curse, is coming out April 18. You can download Feb. 14 from their website, and for a special Valentine’s Day present, a podcast, too.
