I could say I’m not superstitious, but how would I explain having pork and sauerkraut today for good luck in the new year? I suppose I’m not as bad as some folks; check out these New Year’s Superstitions at Snopes.com.
Took advantage of the ridiculously warm weather (63 degrees!) and packed up the outdoor Christmas lights/wreaths/garlands. I also framed and hung some really nice photos that had been waiting patiently in assorted envelopes for way too long. By tomorrow the laundry will be caught up–must be time to go back to work.
On a sad note, I found out that an old friend died unexpectedly on Wednesday. Don’t know why yet, just know that he was much too young. There was nothing I could do, so I played some James Taylor and reminisced. About doing donuts in the snow and skating on the pond and the incident at the spring. I’m sorry that you’re gone. I don’t know what else to say.
